Composing the top 48

A: 35 athletes from the general standing including results from all qualification squads B: 1 female athlete from Turbo G5

C: 1 female athlete from Turbo G3 D: 1 athlete from Turbo G4

E: 1 athlete from Turbo G6

F: 2 athletes playing in squads 9 to 12

G: 2 athletes playing in squads 5 to 8

H: 2 athletes playing in squads 1 to 4 I: 3 athletes from the desperado squad

Athletes are qualified in the order: A – B – C – D – E – F – G – H – I

It is only possible to qualify for the final steps once, it will always be the highest achieved qualification, of the order above which gives which rank an athlete get in the final.

 

Seeding for the final steps

All athletes qualified from the I standing (3), the H standing (2), the G-standing (2), the F standing (3) ), the E standing (1), the D standing (1), the C standing (1), the B standing (1) and then from the A (general) standing position 17-35 (19) is qualified for the final step 1 Athletes positioned 10-16 in the A (general) standing will qualify for the final step 2

Athletes positioned 1-9 in the A (general) standing will qualify for the final step 3

 

Final step 1

32 athletes qualified will play 5 games starting from scratch Top 17 will qualify for the final step 2

Athletes not continuing to the final step 2 will be ranked 34-48 according to their positions in the standing of the final step 1

 

Final step 2

24 athletes qualified will play 4 games starting from scratch Top 9 will qualify for the final step 3

Athletes not continuing to the final step 3 will be ranked 19-33 according to their positions in the standing of the final step 2

Final step 3

18 athletes will be divided in 3 pools, 2 athletes per pair of lanes, as follows:

 

Pool 1: 1, 6 and 7 from the qualification + 3, 4 and 9 from step 2.

Pool 2: 2, 5 and 8 from the qualification + 2, 5 and 7 from step 2.

Pool 3: 3, 4 and 9 from the qualification + 1, 6 and 8 from step 2.

Each game is played for points: 8-6-5-3-2-1 point – if there is a tie then points are shared Each pool is playing 4 games, change lanes (inside the pool) between games, 6 highest ath- letes in points continues to step 4.

No. 6 in each pool will be ranked no 16-18 based on pinfall in final step 3 No. 5 in each pool will be ranked no 13-15 based on pinfall in final step 3 No. 4 in each pool will be ranked no 10-12 based on pinfall in final step 3 No. 3 in each pool will be ranked no 7-9 based on pinfall in final step 3

 

Final step 4

6 athletes will play an elimination over 5 one game rounds

In each round the lowest scoring athlete is leaving the elimination Round 1 is starting from scratch

Round 2 is starting with the score from round 1 carried forward

Round 3 is starting with an accumulated score of the two previous games carried forward Round 3 is starting with an accumulated score of the three previous games carried forward Round 4 is starting with an accumulated score of the four previous games carried forward The athlete leaving the first round will be ranked 6

The athlete leaving the second round will be ranked 5 The athlete leaving the third round will be ranked 4 The athlete leaving the fourth round will be ranked 3 The athlete leaving the fifth round will be ranked 2

The winner will be ranked 1 and will be the Champion of the 18th Storm San Marino Open

Tournament tie rules Qualification

The highest positioned athlete will be the athlete scoring the highest last game. If a tie still exists, the highest positioned athlete will be the athlete with the highest second last game etc.

Turbo Competition

The highest positioned athlete will be the highest positioned athlete after the qualification

Turbo Female Competition

The highest positioned female athlete will be the highest positioned athlete after the qualifi- cation

 

Desperado

A tie influencing who will qualify for the first final step will be broken by playing a 2 x One Ball Roll offs, repeated until the tie is broken.

 

Final Step 1-3

Ties influencing who will qualify for the next final step will be broken by playing a one ball roll off, repeated until the tie is broken. In all other tie situations in step 1-3, a procedure similar to the procedure for the qualification will be followed.

Final step 4

In case of a tie in a round decisive for a continuation to the next round, or a tie deciding the final title match, a one ball roll off on a full set of pins will be played, repeated until the tie is broken.
